Join the White Lake Women’s Institute, 7 John Box St @ Burnstown Rd, this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for an evening with the Renfrew County Community paramedics, where we will discuss the importance of community health and safety. Hear from experienced paramedics about their work in the field and learn about the various programs and services available to the community.
Music in the Park returns to Veterans Park, 30 Pembroke St, Cobden, this Wednesday! Spare Change will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. playing country, rock and roll and your favorites. From Merle to Elvis and more. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the show!
This Thursday marks an exciting day in the Town of Renfrew – an outdoor market is returning to the area. The Town and Country Market will run Thursdays from 4-8 p.m. at the Renfrew Fairgrounds. Admission by donation, and students needing community hours are welcome to reach out for volunteer opportunities.
Thursday is Culture Connect Movie Night at the Renfrew Public Library! Drop in at 6:00 p.m. for a screening of the 2018 film “Ramen Shop”, a story about a young Japanese man who – after his parents’ deaths – takes a food journey to Singapore where he uncovers delicious meals and family secrets. LOCAL SPORTS: Support Our Teams!
Dangerously hot and humid conditions are expected for the Ottawa Valley for most of this week, which means some local minor sports leagues may decide to cancel games and practices. Check with your coaches and/or league organizers for updates.
The Renfrew Minor Hockey Association is gauging interest in an Under-21 Division starting next season. Parents and players are invited to take a survey available on their website.
Renfrew Prep Basketball is currently looking for billet families to host their Prep team players (Grades 10 to 12). Host families will be eligible for a monthly allowance per player. Interested families can call 613-570-4165 or email contact@renfrewprep.com.
The Renfrew County Kings Summer Hockey and Sport Camps are running in Renfrew this summer. If your child loves hockey and gym class RCK camps are the place to be August 6-9 for kids born between 2011-13 and August 12-16 for kids born between 2014-16.
