It’s an unfortunate year for strawberry fans in the Ottawa Valley.
McGregor’s Produce in Braeside says continuing weather issues over the winter and spring have forced them to cancel the U-Pick strawberry season.
In a statement, the farm says this year’s picking is “much too difficult to offer a good experience for customers,” and they hope to have the crop ready for next year.
You can still buy strawberries by the basket at their local produce stands, and McGregor’s is also looking forward to a promising U-Pick raspberry season starting in July.
