Renfrew residents looking to escape this week’s hot and humid weather have a few options starting today.
Environment Canada has put the entire Ottawa Valley under a heat warning, with daytime highs expected to reach into the low 40’s with the humidex until the end of the week.
The town of Renfrew has set up cooling areas and water refilling stations at three locations:
- Renfrew Library: Open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9AM – 5PM; and, Tuesday and Thursday from 10AM – 8PM
- myFM Centre: Open 7AM – 10PM daily
- Golden Age Activity Centre: Open 10AM – 3 PM daily
Environment Canada reminds you that extreme heat can affect everyone’s health, and to watch for the signs of heat illness, like swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, and heat stroke.
Never leave people, particularly children, or pets inside a parked vehicle.
