If you had been following the massive storms rolling through the Ottawa Valley the night before, you would have been excused to have thought that the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation’s day out at the Renfrew Golf Club on Friday, June 14th, was a non-starter.
However, Executive Director Patti Dillabough says the 26th annual RVH Golf Classic couldn’t have gone better.
People were so keen to support this year’s Golf Classic that the RVH Foundation had to overbook their tee times just to fit everyone in.
Dillabough says that it’s just another example of how the community steps up to support their Equip RVH campaign, which allows the hospital to prioritize vital equipment purchases not covered by government funding so patients can stay local while getting the best care possible.
It was also the first year the event ran without the watchful eye of its creator, former Foundation Chair Jim Lemenchick, who retired from the role in 2023 after 25 successful tournaments and over a million and a half dollars raised for the hospital.
Dillabough sends a huge shoutout to her team for weathering a hectic week in the lead-up to the Golf Classic and pulling off a fantastic event for everyone taking part.
The Hospital Foundation is still tallying the final numbers from the day, including the silent online auction, garden shed draw, and golf ball drop, which they plan to reveal sometime this week.
