At Arnprior Town Council Monday, Mayor Lisa McGee shared embargoed breaking news on the creation of a new local granting agency, to be entitled the Ottawa Valley Community Foundation.
The monies flow as a benefit from the County having hosted the Ontario Winter Games in 2023.
Bishop-Nriagu was our Ontario Winter Games Ambassador, and combined with Games Chair and current County Warden Peter Emon on the announcement, according to Mayor McGee.
The fund will bankroll annual grants in several categories.
This initiative aims to inspire the next generation of local athletes and support their dreams.
The first round of applications comes in 2025.
