Among the annual highlights of Seniors Month in Renfrew is the summer barbecue, planned this year on Friday, June 21.
June is Seniors’ Month and there are a number of special events being planned in Renfrew.
Renfrew and Area Seniors Home Support (RASHS) has released its list of Seniors Month activities and there’s a little something for everyone, with most activities taking place at the Golden Age Activity Centre.
The fun events include:
- Thursday, June 6: free coffee and Timbits from 10 a.m. to noon.
- Sunday, June 9: Country Dance fundraiser for RASHS, 2-6 p.m. at Horton Community Centre
- Monday, June 10: Special Seniors Month Bingo from 1-3 p.m.
- Tuesday, June 11: Presentation by Alan Fox on wildlife photography, 1-2 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 12: Coffee time and snacks 10 a.m.; Lunch at noon
- Tuesday, June 18: Karaoke from 1-2:30 p.m.
- Thursday, June 20: Free coffee and Bonnechere Bakery croissants 10 a.m.; Valley Heritage Radio Bingo 7 p.m.
- Friday, June 21: Fundraising barbecue, lunch and entertainment beginning at 11 a.m.
- Wednesday, June 26: Lunch and ice cream cake, noon-1 p.m.
The 2024 theme for Seniors Month is ‘Working For Seniors.’
