The Town of Renfrew says residents living west of downtown will need to keep in mind ongoing maintenance affecting the colour of their water.
Town staff will begin flushing out fire hydrants this week in the general area of Argyle St. S., Lochiel St. S., Bonnechere St. S., Queen St. S., Bank St. S., Carswell St., Ross St., Prince Ave. W., Renfrew Ave. W., Cross Ave., Patrick Ave., Munroe Ave. W., and Ma-te-way Park.
It’s part of routine maintenance that is necessary for the integrity of the water system, but it could also cause brownish sediment to temporarily come out of taps in the area.
If you notice discoloration in your water, run a cold water tap for a short period of time until the clear water returns. They add that you should not use hot water until you have clear water again.
If you have any questions, please contact the Town of Renfrew at 613-432-4848 or visit their website for further updates.
