The folks at Renfrew Home Hardware can’t wait to show the community what they’ve been up to.
For the past five months, extensive renovations have been underway and now, the time has come for the big reveal.
There’ll be ample opportunity for curious community members to drop by during grand opening celebrations that kick off this Thursday, says Melanie McFarlane, the store’s administrator.
Owner Adam Moulton took over the store in 2023, when Steve and Karen Maxwell retired, and after a period of getting to know staff and clientele, a plan was set in motion.
Among the changes at the store is a wealth of new products on offer.
The addition of an on-site small engine mechanic is another fantastic development, noted McFarlane.
Response so far from the community has been great, she said, and the changes and additions have been welcomed.
Everyone is excited to celebrate and there is a wealth of activities planned, beginning with Renfrew Home Hardware’s take on a ribbon cutting on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Greetings from the owners, Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski, cake and refreshments will be part of the day’s activities.
Saturday’s fun includes two kids’ woodwork project sessions – the morning group will make doll beds and the afternoon session will create toolboxes. Workshops are free to attend and children must be accompanied by an adult. McFarlane is hopeful most of those interested will sign up in advance but there will likely be space for participants on the day of.
That’s not all that’s planned for Saturday, though.
Special grand opening flyer deals, raffles and games will also be part of the celebration.
McFarlane invites everyone to drop by and join in the fun.
