A two-term Renfrew councillor and well-known community booster has died at the age of 81.
Bill (William) Guyea served on town council for two terms and was a member of the Renfrew Lions Club, Renfrew Highland Pipes and Drums, and Royal Canadian Legion. He was also a volunteer firefighter for 23 years.
Bill, who died peacefully with his family by his side at Renfrew Victoria Hospital on Sunday, April 7, was the loving husband of Ina DeVries for 61 years. He is also survived by his children Rhonda, Cindy, and BJ, along with siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Bill is known for his love for his family, and of the Town of Renfrew and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at the Goulet Funeral Home on Friday, April 19 from 5-8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Renfrew, on Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Rosebank Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation.
