After a three-month hiatus, the Galilee Centre in Arnprior has reopened.
myFM spoke with Executive Director Megan Postin Thursday.
She says a skeleton staff took care of maintenance at Galilee over the timeframe.
The first overnight guests occupied Galilee this past weekend.
Postin says the Galilee Centre will continue under the Oblate Order umbrella until the end of October while relationship details between the Oblates and the local board are negotiated.
Postin says Galilee’s outreach is being extended to a possible collaboration with the Arnprior-McNab-Braeside Seniors’ Active Living Centre.
The relationship is reciprocal- in that there would also be benefits for the student.
Two “Welcome Back” Lunches planned for this Wednesday and Thursday are sold out, but the Centre will be offering its traditional popular luncheons on a regular basis to a growing clientele.
Megan says the menu will be a mixture of tried-and-true, and the new.
And programming will be also follow the same formula.
Essentially, the more use Galilee can be, the better its future chances are.
Postin says as soon as she knows about November 1st and beyond, she’ll tell us.
Call the Galilee Centre at 613-623-4242 for details on the exciting new agenda.
