UPDATE, 7:45 a.m.: Listener tips suggest that this morning’s power outages may extend into the outskirts of Renfrew towards Highway 132, including Ferguslea Road, and up towards Haley Station along Highways 60 and 17.
Meanwhile, Hydro One reports that over 1,000 customers are without power in and around Golden Lake and Killaloe, with at least 1,000 more in the dark between Eganville and Calabogie. Smaller pockets scattered throughout the rural parts of the Upper Ottawa Valley are also experiencing blackouts. Hydro One still expects most of the damage to be fixed by 11:00 a.m. today.

Environment Canada’s snowfall warning is continuing today. Weather officials say that snow will be on and off until later tonight which could cause some travel problems. Hydro One is dealing with a number of power outages in the region this morning. Close to 200 customers are in the dark around Laurentian Valley, while another 1000 are without power between Bonnechere Valley and Golden Lake. Luckily, power is expected to be restored by 11 o’clock this morning. Buses in the Zone 4 Madawaska Area are cancelled this morning, with all other Ottawa Valley buses up and running. All schools in the Valley are also reportedly open.
