Just when you thought it was safe to put your winter jacket away…
Environment Canada is telling the Ottawa Valley to brace for an early spring storm that will bring rain and the potential for significant snow between Wednesday and Thursday night.
Precipitation is expected to begin as rain transitions to snow on Wednesday morning. Snow, which may be heavy at times, is expected to continue through Wednesday night, easing Thursday night.
Significant snowfall accumulations in excess of 20 cm are possible by the time snow begins to ease Thursday night.
Power outages will be possible, and travel may become hazardous due to accumulating snow and reduced visibility.
Right now, Environment Canada is warning that confidence is low as there remains a high degree of uncertainty about the weather pattern’s track.
Changes to the storm’s course will have significant impacts on temperatures, snowfall amounts, and when rain will transition to snow.
Warnings, if required, will be issued as the event draws nearer.
