Renfrew Victoria Hospital says to keep April 13th open for a new event from their charitable arm.
Executive Director Patti Dillabough says their Daffodil Dance that evening will take a popular event from years past that supported the hospital’s Oncology Department and bring it back just in time for Cancer Awareness Month.
Dillabough says the daffodil is recognized as the flower of cancer awareness, making it a perfect symbol for the new fundraiser supporting important services for cancer patients and survivors close to home.
Doors open at the Renfrew Wing on Argyle Street that evening at 7:30 p.m., with live music from the Sidewinder Band and late-night snacks from the Backyard Gourmet.
Another important part of the night will be the lighting of commemorative lanterns, where people who have fought cancer, lost their battle, or are still fighting can be recognized.
Tickets are $25 and still available in the lead-up to the event, but Dillabough says they are selling well and may not last much longer.
You can pick yours up right now through the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation website or at a number of local businesses, such as Ella’s Keeping Company, Ray’s Flowers, Pick it Fence, Renfrew Home Hardware, and the RVH Foundation Office.
