The province’s chief medical officer of health has a warning when it comes to measles.
Dr. Kieran Moore says that while measles is no longer common in Canada, outbreaks can happen when unvaccinated or susceptible people travel to and from countries where the virus is circulating.
He’s telling public health officials to prepare for possible measles outbreaks given the rise in cases in other parts of the world.
Moore says two of the four active cases of measles in Canada are in Toronto.
