Samaritan’s Purse celebrates the collection of over 11 million Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts for children in need, with Pembroke making a significant contribution. Headquartered in Alberta, this organization unites communities across Canada in aiding those in need.
Eileen Ebert, Regional Manager for Samaritan’s Purse Canada tells myFM how these projects help so many communities and bring smiles to young children during the holidays.
Operation Christmas Child, since 1993, has delivered 220 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in over 170 countries. Ebert shares how Pembroke residents can participate.
In 2023, Ontario residents packed 154,229 shoeboxes, marking an increase of almost 3,000 from 2022’s 151,788. Pembroke played a crucial role by contributing 826 shoeboxes, and the Arnprior area added 468. Ebert expresses gratitude for the commitment of individuals striving to make a difference.
