A tradition of power and speed continues this weekend in Eganville!
The 48th annual Bonnechere Cup gets underway this Saturday for two days of blistering action at the Oval Track on Snodrifters Road in Eganville.
Race Director Scott Clark says spectators will see all types of snowmobiles, from vintage machines up to high-performance classes, including the Pro Champ series.
Clark considers keeping the tradition of the local race alive important, as it’s the last of a dying breed in Ontario.
Despite an up-and-down winter, Clark is thrilled to note the ice on the track is thick enough for the weekend, and sunny weather with daily highs touching zero degrees bodes well for racers and spectators this weekend.
He credits a dedicated team of club members and volunteers who have been working year-round to ensure top snowmobilers across Canada and the U.S. were able to enjoy what has become a favourite stop on the tour.
The weekend is also an important stop on the Prostar Cup Tour as teams jockey for position in the annual points race.
