Renfrew Council has an important evening in store for them.
Their usual Tuesday night meeting will feature two major components, including the tabling of the 2024 draft budget.
While the final document is expected to come back for approval on February 27th, Councilor Clint McWhirter feels like they may need more time to ensure they can cut costs.
Should they need it, Chief Administrative Officer Rob Tremblay notes that extra time could be asked for if council wants to continue cutting fat past the expected approval in late February.
The evening is expected to feature some belt-tightening for Renfrew’s spending going into 2024, as Councilor Andrew Dick made his desire from town staff clear at a recent meeting.
Another item on the agenda is a vote of non-confidence regarding Mayor Tom Sidney and his role in the Ma-te-Way Expansion Project.
