This weekend is expected to shape how the Town of Renfrew promotes and grows what makes it truly special.
Town staff and DCarr Community Solutions will start a series of casual discussions on local arts, heritage, and culture this weekend as they develop Renfrew’s first ever cultural plan.
DCarr’s Research Director, Janet Kreda, says that they’re hoping you will drop by in hopes of telling them more about what makes the town truly special.
She adds that Renfrew is a rural community rich in history and stories waiting to be told in ways that appeal to all five senses.
Your perspectives and ideas are welcome, as they hope to hear what residents want to see focused on when the town promotes and develops local arts, heritage, and culture, as well as where the town could improve on its current efforts.
You can drop in at one of four meeting places where the DCarr team will be over the weekend, including:
- Golden Age Activity Centre: Friday, January 19, 2024: 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
- Renfrew Town Hall Council Boardroom: Friday, January 19, 2024: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Renfrew Public Library Program Room: Saturday, January 20, 2024: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Ma-te-Way Activity Centre Lobby: Sunday, January 21, 2024: 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (and FREE public skate)
Each session will feature a large-scale map of town that you can refer to when describing important locations and areas in town or where you would like to see more of a focus placed.
There will also be paper questionnaires for people who may not be comfortable speaking up. You can find that survey online if you can’t make it to one of the in-person sessions.
