Renfrew Council’s last meeting ahead of their budget talks was emotional for a few reasons.
One of them was the announcement that Treasurer Erin Broome would be leaving the role for a job at Pembroke Regional Hospital.
Town Reeve Peter Emon noted Broome’s ability, patience, and confidence in handling the financial changes that came with the town’s recent organizational restructuring.
Her efforts to get a town council made up of mostly fresh faces to hit the ground running were not lost on Councilor Jason Legris.
She was also given the chance to send a heartfelt thanks for the opportunities and connections she made over the last eight years.
Mayor Tom Sidney would echo the rest of the council’s sentiments in wishing Broome all the best, calling her a true leader for the town.
