At the inaugural meeting of the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus, held January 11 and 12 in the County of Lennox and Addington, the 2024 chair and vice-chair were chosen. Peterborough County Warden Bonnie Clark (left) was acclaimed as Vice-Chair and Renfrew County Warden Peter Emon was reelected as Chair.
Renfrew County will lead the way for communities across Eastern Ontario for another year.
County Warden Peter Emon has been re-elected as the Chair for the Eastern Ontario Warden’s Caucus, an organization advocating on behalf of 90 local municipalities and around 800,000 residents across the region.
He most recently led the caucus’ effort to lobby provincial and federal members of Parliament on the 7 in 7+ Regional Housing Plan, which would build 28,000 homes in the area over the course of seven years.
Emon says that he is honoured by the faith his colleagues are showing in him, adding that they “will work together to address the issues and champion solutions that impact residents of rural eastern Ontario.”
Flanking Emon for a second straight year will be Vice-Chair and Peterborough County Warden, Bonnie Clark.
