A plan to shuffle the space inside the myFM Centre’s main lobby could give you more access to town staff.
Renfrew’s Director of Community Services, Kelly Thompson, explains that they’re hoping to set up what they’re calling “Service Renfrew” inside myFM Centre’s main lobby, offering residents the ability to make transactions with the town outside of usual operating hours at Town Hall.
The move centers around the office currently occupied by Renfrew Wolves Head Coach Ryan Leonard.
If approved, Thompson says the move would also relocate the arena’s current Pro Shop elsewhere in the myFM Centre’s expanded space, providing some additional benefit to the NHA/NHL Birthplace Museum that sits in between it and what would become the Service Renfrew office.
That news was well received by members of the Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations Committee at a recent meeting, although councilor Kyle Cybulski is not sure if the extra space for the museum would be enough.
Thompson says the town is open to looking into ways to give the museum more space.
Meanwhile, the Service Renfrew plan is expected to be debated at Town Council’s next meeting on Tuesday, January 9th.
