As many local families struggle with finding primary care, a new option for the youngest in our community is starting soon.
Renfrew Victoria Hospital has teamed up with the Renfrew County Youth Wellness Hub to have a nurse practitioner on site and take appointments at the Hub’s location at 278 Nelson Street in Pembroke.
That means that youth between the ages of twelve and twenty-five without access to a family doctor will have the chance to receive free primary care every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting on January 11th.
Common reasons to make an appointment include general medical care, testing for STIs and pregnancy, ear, throat, or bladder infections, depression, anxiety, mental health concerns, and more.
