You can add another neighbouring town to the growing list making use of the Lisgar Avenue dog pound.
The Town of Renfrew will be extending a four year deal to Carleton Place that would see town allowed to make use of the local pound.
If that news sounds familiar, Director of Fire and Emergency Services Mike Guest explained why at a recent committee meeting
Guest says that Carleton Place is just the latest municipality that’s shown interest in using pound, which he says can house around six animals at a time, for the occasional lost pet caught by animal control.
The deal brought concerns from Council members at the meeting about overcrowding, but Guest says it likely won’t be an issue.
The Town of Renfrew will be paid between $1,740 to $1,850 per year for the length of the deal.
