The Renfrew Wolves struggled to get out of the gates on Wednesday night as they dropped an important road game against the Ottawa Jr. Senators, 4-2.
Renfrew forward and current CCHL scoring leader Jace Letourneau would draw first blood with an early powerplay goal in the first period and strike again mid-way through the second, but the Jr. Senators would control the pace of play until late in the game, nearly doubling Renfrew’s shots on goal heading into the final 20 minutes.
Letourneau’s two-goal performance would earn him second-star of the game honours.
Meanwhile, Wolves goaltender Viacheslav Gordeichuk made 18 saves on 21 shots before being pulled in the second period for backup Nolan Lane, who stopped 13 of 14 chances to close the game.
The Wolves will continue their road trip this Friday, December 1st, as they travel to Navan for a 7:30 p.m. game with the Grads. 96.1 myFM will have the live broadcast for you, starting with the pre-game show at about 7:20 p.m.
