The Renfrew County Real Estate Board says home sales were down last month, a continuing trend of 2023. 91 units sold through the MLS system in October, down 24% from last year and 34% below the five-year average. To date, the Board says home sales are down 16% from last year, with the average price dropping nearly 4% to just over $446-thousand. Dollar values of home sales in October dropped significantly, the total of $42.4-million is more than 21% lower than last October’s sales. Despite some slower sales, listings are up – 177 new listings in October is 15 more than last year. In total, the Real Estate Board says 422 active residential listings were on the market at the end of October, a gain of 27% from last year. At the rate things are going, they say it would take 4.6 months to sell off the entire market.
