Friday October 27th is “Dress Purple” Day, sponsored by Children’s Aid Societies across the province to raise awareness about the important role that individuals and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families.
On Dress Purple Day, everyone across the province is asked to dress purple to share the collective message that help is available. As reinforcement, share your “IDressPurpleBecause” pictures and videos on your social media.
Child welfare research and data indicates that unemployment, lack of housing and food insecurity
play an important role in family crises that lead to Children’s Aid Society involvement. Effective prevention starts with ensuring that adequate economic and social supports are in place.
