Police in Whitewater Region say a recent tip about a possibly impaired driver on the road turned out to be true.
Officers with the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP were sent to locate the vehicle at around 10:20 p.m. on Friday, October 6th, and would track it down on Beachburg Road to test the driver’s sobriety.
Their investigation would find open alcohol and cannabis in the car, and 30-year-old Mitchell James Braddock of Oshawa would be arrested for:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
- Drive vehicle with cannabis in open packaging
- Care or control of vehicle with cannabis in open packaging
- Care of control of vehicle with cannabis readily available
- Drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor
The driver has since been released ahead of a court appearance in early November.
