Even with a two-week stretch of cool weather in the middle, September was hotter than usual across Ontario.
Environment Canada’s summary for the month explains that temperatures near the Ottawa Valley were around 1 to 2 degrees warmer than the average, thanks in part to an early heat wave and a late rise in daily highs heading into October.
They add that it was abnormally dry for much of Ontario, with local precipitation sitting at around a quarter of the usual totals for September.
Looking ahead, Environment Canada predicts above-normal temperatures for the Ottawa Valley in October, with this current stretch of cool and wet days continuing to the end of this week.
