As friends and family gather for Thanksgiving Monday, October 9th, you might notice some stores and services in Renfrew will stay closed for the day.
That includes most grocers in the area, including Renfrew Metro, Walmart, and Chris and Tanya’s No Frills. All three will be closed the entire day and return to normal hours on Tuesday, October 10th, along with the Beer Store and local LCBO.
Local pharmacies will also be impacted by the statutory holiday, with the downtown Rexall open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Aikenhead’s Pharmacy staying closed.
Any banking you need to handle on Monday will have to happen online, as Royal Bank, BMO, TD Bank, and Scotiabank will stay closed on Monday.
Municipal offices, including Town Hall, the Renfrew Public Library, the Ma-te-Way Activity Centre, and the Renfrew Recreation Centre, will be closed for Thanksgiving, as will Renfrew’s ServiceOntario and Service Canada locations.
The Renfrew Canada Post Office and local mail services also stop to observe the holiday.
