One of the grandest stages of running will feature a local competitor next year.
Jessica Forgie joined myFM in the Morning to celebrate making it to the 128th Boston Marathon after posting a 3-hour, 26-minute qualifying run in Montreal last month, making the cut by four minutes.
She says that a pair of friends have also qualified, which means she will have some company on the race route when they take off on April 15th.
It’s been a busy few months for Forgie, as she not only recently held a fundraiser run to support the ALS Society of Canada in Burnstown, but she’s also been on maternity leave for her second child at the same time.
But what will her focus be on when she crosses the starting line in Boston?
If Forgie can finish the Boston Marathon in under 3-hours-30 minutes, she will qualify to return in 2025.
