Renfrew and Area Seniors’ Home Support is helping the community declutter this weekend.
Their Development Coordinator, Rae-Ann Dagenais, is welcoming people in the area to their Shred Day event in the municipal parking lot next to Renfrew Town Hall on Saturday, September 23rd from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
Dagenais says that it’s not just for seniors; people of all ages are welcome to drop by that morning with documents and file folders of any colour that you want to destroy professionally and securely.
She adds that the Shred Day concept has been a proven fundraiser for their sister site, the Arnprior-McNab-Braeside Seniors at Home Program.
The price to take part is $10 for each banker box or garbage bag full of files you bring in, with the money going right back into their work in downtown Renfrew.
Dagenais says there isn’t a limit on how many boxes worth of files you can bring in, but she does ask that whatever you bring in is easy to access and lift for the people handling them.
She also says having the exact count of how many boxes you bring in will help with the invoicing for the mobile shredder, which they’re renting for the morning.
