Renfrew County’s warden recently wore another hat as he tackled big issues in the Ottawa Valley.
Peter Emon served as Chair of the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus, speaking with the provincial government and opposition about affordable and attainable housing, long-term care, and paramedic services when he and the EOWC met with over 2,000 municipal colleagues at a conference earlier this month.
Emon says they came “prepared for meaningful conversations” with the Ministries of Health and Long-Term Care, as well as the Ontario Liberals and NDP, where their requests were well received.
He adds that these discussions “will lead to better outcomes across our region” as the EOWC looks forward to “continuing to work with all parties to find solutions and support the region and its communities.”
The Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus features municipal leaders working on behalf of 103 municipalities and residents, including Renfrew County.
