Renfrew’s Parks and Recreation department wants to pump up the town’s Fitness Centre.
A $141,969 bid for brand new fitness equipment from Fitness Depot has been approved by Council as part of the ongoing expansion of the Ma-te-Way Activity Centre.
The Fitness Centre will triple in size when it moves from the current Recreation Centre on Argyle St. to the MAC later this year, and the goal for the state-of-the-art cardio and weight equipment being bought will be to provide its growing membership with an up-to-date area to stay active & healthy.
Town staff had set aside $150,000 for the new Fitness Centre as part of the Recreation Ma-te-Way Component Reserve in this year’s budget.
