You might not see it on the surface, but Renfrew’s way of recycling has changed.
The town has made a long awaited move to a new provincial model for blue and yellow bin pick-up that puts the responsibility on the producers of the recyclables.
If you’re already recycling properly at home, the good news is that nothing will change for you. What you can recycle, as well as when and where you leave your bins at the curb, will stay the same.
However, the town says that the new system is working behind the scenes to reduce costs and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of local recycling efforts.
The framework for local recycling is being maintained by Circular Materials, who now have a dedicated page for information about recycling in Renfrew on their website.
