Riverview Rescues is making sure to enjoy the moment this weekend.
After two years running and hundreds of local animals rescued, Founder and President Laura Pelkey tells myFM that they will finally get around to hosting an anniversary party.
Adoptables and alumni from the rescue program will be on hand at the Westmeath and District Recreation Association Hall at 119 Synton Street this Saturday, July 29th, starting at 11:00am. There will also be a dog trainer to speak with who will also help with playtime for the dogs, a barbeque, vendors, goodies, and more to enjoy.
It’s all in celebration of making it as far as they have in such a short amount of time, as well as Pelkey’s dream to one day expand their services and reach.
The get-together in Westmeath is also a long time coming for the small team and their many volunteers, as they continue to build support for their cause.
Pets are welcome, and Pelkey adds that there will be water bowls set up across the site as well as calming stations for any that might get overstimulated by the day.
She is asking that you ask the owner or caretaker of an animal at the party before meeting them up close, and to expect a yellow ribbon on fosters that might be skittish when it comes to people or other dogs.
