Of the 13 domestic disputes investigated by Renfrew OPP officers this past week, two incidents saw charges laid.
On Saturday July 15th about midnight, OPP responded to a dispute in Whitewater Region Township. As a result of the investigation, one person was charged under the Criminal Code with Assault causing bodily harm- choke, suffocate or strangle; and Mischief under $5000.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.
Similar circumstances prevailed the next day in Renfrew.
At about 1230AM, police investigated an incident which saw an individual charged with Assault, Assault with a weapon and Assault causing bodily harm- choke, suffocate or strangle.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.
