A hydro pole was knocked clean off its stump and a car was completely totaled in an early Thursday morning crash in Renfrew.
A tipster has let myFM News know that they were passed by the car, which was going at high speed in the rain, along Burnstown Road just before 8:50am on Thursday, July 13th, when it veered into a pole at the Ivy Avenue intersection.
The car then careened into the garage of a nearby home before coming to rest.
Emergency services were on hand to direct traffic while hydro services assessed the damage to the local power grid and officers searched the vehicle.
Renfrew OPP say that their investigation is ongoing, and that the lone driver of the car is in custody while being assessed at Renfrew Victoria Hospital.
