An important part of Renfrew’s long-term transportation plans has the green light.
A team led by Jp2g Consulting has won the contract for roadwork along O’Brien Road from Wrangler Road to Mask Road after Renfrew Town Council accepted their $520,787 bid on Friday, July 7th.
Infrastructure and Public Works Director Connor Jamieson calls this part of the Highway 60 renovation the most critical.
Director of Strategic Asset Management Mike Asselin took council through the proposed timeline, noting that the project will go into the design and tendering phases at the start of next year.
While they’re confident that work will be done in short order, town staff are working under a deadline, as Asselin says the plan is to see the road fully functional ahead of the Highway 417 expansion.
This project is part of a multi-year, multi-million dollar rehabilitation of O’Brien Road, which has been completed thanks to funding from the province’s Connecting Link program and the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund.
