Eganville couple Glen and Evelyn Hein won a MAXMILLIONS prize worth $1 million in the May 19th LOTTO MAX draw.
Glen, 58, and Evelyn, 57, say they are occasional lottery players.
The 19th of May was Evelyn’s birthday and the couple had just returned from a trip to Niagara Falls.
They stopped at the supermarket and Evelyn decided to purchase a ticket.
“I let someone go ahead of me in line – maybe that led to my win!” she said.
Evelyn checked their ticket on the OLG App the next morning and discovered it was a big winner.
At first she thought there were too many zeros to be just a thousand dollar prize- and Glen thought she was pranking him.
If Glen hadn’t thought about retiring, he’s contemplating it now- and the pair are thinking about a trip back to the Falls, but just to stay longer this time.
“The money is really going to help,” adds Glen. “This is going to be a whole new experience.”
