It will go down as a big weekend for brain cancer research at Renfrew’s Ma-te-Way Park.
Julie Villamere, the organizer of this past Saturday’s Heads and Hearts Run, Walk, and Bike recently joined myFM in the Morning to give us the totals from the fundraiser in support of Brain Cancer Canada.
Villamere is crediting an excellent turnout this past Saturday, May 27th, as locals dressed up in gray to commemorate Brain Cancer Awareness Month took off from Ma-te-Way Park through Renfrew in support of brain cancer research.
She believes that it is an important cause to get out and raise awareness for because of how little money it would get otherwise.
Plans are already in the works for the next fundraising event, but Villamere is keeping those quiet for now.
