April saw a total of $70 million used to buy homes in Renfrew County… and that’s not as much as you would think.
The Renfrew County Real Estate Board says that number is actually down 34.1% against April of 2022.
Deals were closed on 160 homes in Renfrew County last month, which was down 26.9% against the same month last year.
The year to date looks even more dire, as the 369 homes sold in the first four months is a drop 40.7% against 2022.
On the positive side, the lack of sold signs on local lawns means that there is more choice at the moment.
241 new listings entered the market in April to create a pool of 351 units currently for sale through the RCREB’s MLS system. That’s more than double what was for sale around this time last year.
It has lowered the average price of a home in Renfrew County from January to April down to $419,442, down 15.6% percent compared with last year.
