A desire to change with the needs of the community has Horton Township’s VTAC office on the move.
Renfrew County’s Chief Paramedic, Mike Nolan, says Horton residents will actually see an increase in service now that they’ve moved into the second floor of the Renfrew County Place building on O’Brien Road in Renfrew.
It’s part of the Renfrew County VTAC’s evolution from primarily a means for people to access care during the COVID-19 pandemic to a general health service helping residents without access to their family physician or those who don’t have one at all.
Nolan explains that the reasoning behind leaving the Horton Community Centre is the same one that has also seen their Pembroke location move out of the Shady Nook Recreation Centre: they’re not the only people using it any more.
The new permanent location for Horton’s VTAC office inside the Renfrew County Place building is fully accessible from the main entrance under the awning, with stairs and an elevator available to the right of the doors.
Head down the second floor hall, and you’ll find them on the last door to your right.
