Junior A Hockey in the Ottawa Valley has a new person at the helm.
The Central Canada Hockey League has made Arnprior native Sean Marcellus the interim Commissioner, with him taking full control on June 1st.
Marcellus has been with the CCHL’s management team for over eight years, including seven years as the league’s Director of Hockey Operations and one year as the President of the Hockey Eastern Ontario Under-18 AAA league.
Chairman Steve Barban tells myFM that “there’s no more qualified candidate than Sean to assume day-to-day operations of the CCHL,” as outgoing Commissioner Kevin Abrams adds that Marcellus’ knowledge of the policies and regulations for both the league and the governing bodies is exceptional, and his passion and commitment are unparalleled.
Marcellus calls it “an honour to be given an opportunity to serve our 12-member clubs as Commissioner,” adding a special thank you to his mentor and friend Abrams, who he says brought him into the league back in 2015.
He is currently representing the league at the Centennial Cup Junior A National Championships in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
