Hospice Renfrew provides palliative care free of charge and is staffed 24/7.
Hospice Renfrew has had plenty to celebrate since this past weekend’s 15th Anniversary Gala.
Some of Hospice Renfrew’s biggest supporters joined them at St. Joseph’s High School in Renfrew on Saturday night, as they held the draw for their annual Auto Lotto.
Fifteen prizes were handed out in total, including the grand prize of a KIA Sportage X-Line from Petawawa Kia which went to Gary and Reta Behm.
Executive Director Marjorie Joly says it couldn’t have gone to a better person in Reta, who sadly lost Gary at the start of April.
In total, $153,200 was raised in support of Hospice Renfrew’s end-of-life care services for residents of the Renfrew County area.
Joly says that another major announcement came from local member of provincial parliament, John Yakabuski.
On top of that, Joly says that even more funds are on the way for Hospice Renfrew thanks to the efforts of Renfrew’s Tim Hortons locations.
Hospice volunteers will be decorating a thousand Smile Cookies a night at each location starting May 1st.
It’s all part of a busy few weeks as they head into their next major fundraiser on Sunday, May 7th: The Hike for Hospice.
Joly says that registration and pledge forms can be found right now on the Hospice Renfrew website.
