Riverview Rescues says a large pack of dogs recently surrendered into their care are doing better.
Their Founder and President Laura Pelkey says they prioritized care for the most vulnerable of the 38 neglected northern husky mixed breed dogs found during a animal cruelty case in Brudenell, Lyndoch, and Raglan earlier this month.
She adds that one person having that many dogs is never a good situation and that while most were doing “okay” when they were picked up, all of them were “in horrific condition.”
Pelkey says they expect to be busy finding foster homes for the 38 huskies, especially as we caught up with her on the way back from Manitoba where she was making a planned trip to rescue even more dogs.
She and her team are thanking the community for their support in giving the animals that come into their custody a loving home.
She’s also send a big thank you to other local rescue agencies who have stepped up to help find the rescued dogs new homes.
If you’re interested in becoming a foster family for a rescue animal, you can check in through their website or facebook page for details.
