It’s no April Fool’s joke: Saturday, April 1st, marks a major milestone for Odi’s Kingburger.
Robert “Odi” Audette says he’s not planning to change much as the classic drive-in diner on Stewart Street celebrates it’s 50th anniversary.
Since making the move into town to run the restaurant, he and his family have watched as it has become an award winning mainstay of the Renfrew dining scene.
His daughter Robin says her experiences growing up at Kingburger were so positive she came back to help run the family business once she finished schooling.
Robin adds that she regularly meets with out of town customers who say Kingburger has them coming back to Renfrew on the regular.
Meanwhile, Odi says he’s still ready to serve the community fresh hamburgers with the same sauce and gravy recipes that have made Kingburger famous since 1973.
Odi himself was willing to let the 50th anniversary fly by without much fanfare, his Robin has been excited to put together a special deal and much more as they welcome customers in on April 1st.
There will also be a colouring contest featuring $50 prizes (check their facebook page for details) and the Beavertails truck parked outside to pair your $5 Kingburger meal up with a sweet treat.
