The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say they have pulled a pair of impaired drivers off the road.
The first came during the early morning on Saturday, March 4th when police performed a RIDE check in Westmeath.
After testing at the scene using a roadside screening device and further testing at the detachment, 21-year-old Elvyn Field of Whitewater Region would be arrested on two drunk driving related charges as well as for driving without a licence and will be in Pembroke for a March 28th court session.
Then, on Saturday evening, officers in Petawawa responded to a single vehicle crash on Industrial Avenue after the driver ended up in the ditch.
No injuries were reported, but the 17-year-old behind the wheel was tested for sobriety with the help of a Drug Recognition Expert officer before being arrested for driving while impaired by drugs.
They were released ahead of an April 13th court date through the Youth Justice division.
Both of the accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days.
