While you’re enjoying your Family Day Long Weekend, keep in mind some stores and services will not be open on Monday, February 20th.
Grocery stores will be one of the more noticeable closures in the area, as the Renfrew Wal-Mart, Metro, Giant Tiger, and Chris and Tanya’s No Frills will all be taking the day off. Both the local Beer Store and LCBO will also close for the public holiday.
Picking up prescriptions may also be difficult on Family Day Monday, with Aikenheads Drug Store closed for the full day. Rexall will be open at reduced hours, 9:00am to 6:00pm.
Check in with your banking services before visiting the local branch, as Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of Montreal, Scotiabank and TD Bank in Renfrew are all reporting that they’re closed on Monday.
Some public services will also shut down for day, including Town Hall and the Public Library. Service Canada on Raglan Street will be open, but ServiceOntario on Plaunt Street will not.
Canada Post says regular collection and delivery of mail occurs on provincial Family Day holidays.
