If you’re thinking of dropping by Algonquin Park some time over the next week, keep an eye out for military personnel.
Garrison Petawawa tell myFM that the Royal Canadian Dragoons will be training on the snowmobile trails around the park from Wednesday, February 1st to Sunday, February 5th.
Exercise Frozen Spartan will see uniformed personnel and vehicles taking part in long-distance patrol training between Petawawa, Mattawa, North Bay, Huntsville, and Madawaska.
It’s part of their preparation for Operation Nanook-Nunalivut, as the Canadian Armed Forces secure our county’s northern regions.
The Garrison says that Armed Forces training is coordinated with local authorities ahead of time with the safety of the public and personnel in mind and developed in a manner that keeps public disturbance to a minimum.
