The big brine leak at the NSC ice-making plant is on everyone’s mind, and Recreation Director Graeme Ivory says some quick action saved a weekend kid’s hockey tournament to get us to where we are today.
Ivory says make no mistake, brine levels are monitored way more often than you check your vehicle’s oil.
The Recreation Director says the expertise involved conjured a make-shift solution, and the U9 hockey tournament was saved Sunday- following as it did on the heels of the 24-team Jack Smith Memorial Hockey Tournament from the Optimist Winter Carnival.
Graeme Ivory says it’s a case of get ‘er done before the next scheduled event- the community is hosting the Ringette portion of the 2023 Ontario Winter Games.
Today is the day of reckoning, and the potential price tag for the repair depends on the size of the job.
Oldies 107.7/myFM will update the situation following an afternoon conversation with Ivory.
One thing that won’t happen is the Rivermen’s scheduled Sunday final home game.
